S Africa suspends COVID-19 vaccination over AstraZeneca study as WHO deliberates on usage

9 February 2021 - The World Health Organisation will decide on recommended usage of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine after a study showed it had low efficacy against the South African variant.

The 15-member Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation was spending the day in a virtual extraordinary meeting discussing the two shot vaccine.
