Shock surgical costs around New Zealand

If you need a knee replacement, better hope you live in Canterbury.
It will cost you, on average, $10,984 there - $1636 and 13 per cent less than the national average.
But if you have it done in Auckland, it will cost you 37 per cent more ($15,037) than the same procedure in Canterbury. Wellington is not much better. A knee replacement there is $14,772 on average, 17 per cent costlier than the national average and 34 per cent more than in Canterbury.
