11 June 2020 - Singapore is set to become one of the first countries in the world to give the go-ahead to use Ebola drug remdesivir in the treatment of COVID-19.
Singapore on Wednesday approved the use of Gilead's anti-viral drug remdesivir for the treatment of severely ill patients with COVID-19 infection.
Remdesivir is the first drug shown to be effective against the novel coronavirus in human trials, with South Korea, Japan, India and the United States having already approved the drug for emergency use.
