Six months into the pandemic, how much closer are we to a vaccine?

13 July 2020 - Queensland scientists racing to make a COVID-19 vaccine are upbeat as their research begins critical human trials this week, joining another Australian project and 28 international efforts to end the pandemic.

The Queensland University project will become the second local program to start human clinical trials.

But a significant hurdle looms: evidence continues to accumulate that the virus does not always produce long-lasting immunity.
