In March 2015 PHARMAC released a consultation document that looked at the future funding approach to blood glucose meters and test strips. The consultation provided information and asked questions to help inform PHARMAC’s approach for the funding of blood glucose meters and test strips.

PHARMAC received 313 individual responses to the consultation from consumers, consumer groups, health professionals and suppliers of blood glucose meters and test strips. People provided PHARMAC with lots of different feedback and opinions on the questions and proposed approach.
