Sussan Ley’s private health committee packed with lobby groups

23 September 2016 - An air of bewildering, and largely misplaced, crisis is again gripping the national discussion around private health insurance.

Writing in The Australian, Shaun Gath notes that Health Minister Sussan Ley’s announcement to set up a committee to advise her on private health may be an opportunity for some progress. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be, at least where it matters most.

The Minister wants the committee to look at “regulatory issues that are adding to the cost of premiums and discouraging innovation”.
