Sydney breast cancer patients welcome better access to life-changing drug
14 January 2020 - In an extraordinary move, the cost of an advanced breast cancer drug has been slashed from as much as $55,500 a year to just $41 per script, with patients and health experts saying it will help save countless lives.
Advanced breast cancer patients will no longer have to fork out thousands of dollars for a life-changing medicine in a move welcomed by health experts and patients on Sydney’s north shore.
The Federal Government has added Verzenio to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, slashing the cost of accessing the drug from as much as $55,500 a year to up to $41 per script.
