18 January 2022 - The pharmacists’ union has accused the medical regulator of putting workers and customers at risk of catching COVID-19 by allowing chemists to conduct rapid antigen testing in stores, despite acknowledging the public health risks posed.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration last week quietly upgraded its advice to allow pharmacists to conduct point-of-care rapid antigen tests in their stores, which were previously to be administered only by trained health care staff.
