The Inflation Reduction Act and access to high cost cardiovascular therapies
20 September 2023 - On August 29, 2023, the Biden-Harris administration announced the first 10 drugs selected for Medicare price negotiation under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Five of the 10 drugs are used to treat cardiovascular conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure, and 2 others are used to treat diabetes, 1 of the most prevalent risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
