The IQWiG methods: new version is effective immediately
19 December 2025 - With the General Methods 8.0, the new IQWiG methodology for determining minimum staffing levels for service groups in hospitals also comes into effect.
Reports from the IQWiG form the scientific basis for key decisions in the statutory health insurance system . These include the inclusion and exclusion of medical services, the setting of minimum annual volumes for complex procedures in hospitals, and the negotiation of reimbursement prices for new medicines. It is therefore all the more important that IQWiG keeps its assessment methods up to date, professionally recognised, and transparent.
