The science of biosimilars - updating interchangeability
18 October 2024 - Almost 15 years ago the US FDA was given the authority to approve biosimilars through the Biosimilars Price Competition and Innovation Act.
The first biosimilar product was approved 5 years later and, as of June 2024, the market has gone from a single approved biosimilar product to more than 50 for 17 different reference products.
