Uncertain effect and high prices of precision medicine are challenging

3 May 2021 - In a report to the government, the Swedish Dental and Pharmaceutical Benefits Agency, TLV, describes the most central challenges in evaluating and paying for these treatments and provides suggestions on how some of them can be handled.

More and more technologies and products that can be described as precision medicine are about to be introduced in healthcare. The development of precision medicine and advanced therapies offers hope for great health benefits for patients suffering from severe diseases. 

At the same time, not all new technologies and products are innovative, do not lead to a clear health benefit for the patient and are not always worth the price.
