Update on proposal to fund ferric carboxymaltose infusions in the community
13 July 2017 - PHARMAC would like to advise all interested parties that there will be a delay in the decision on a proposal to list ferric carboxymaltose (Ferinject) 500 mg/10 mL vial in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule from 1 August 2017 for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.
The proposal was the subject of a consultation letter dated 02 June 2017 which can be found on PHARMAC’s website.
Consultation on this proposal has now closed. PHARMAC has received a large number of detailed responses during consultation from a wide range of interested parties which the agency is taking more time to carefully consider. This means a decision on the proposal will be delayed and the proposed listing will not occur on 1 August 2017.
