18 August 2023 - The Biden administration is set to announce the first targets for price negotiation, part of a broader attempt to lower seniors’ health care costs in the Inflation Reduction Act.

The list is expected to arrive within the next two weeks, and industry experts believe it will include some of the most widely prescribed treatments for arthritis, blood disorders, heart disease and diabetes — prompting top manufacturers, including Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck and Johnson & Johnson, to challenge the administration in court.
