FDA

The Swiss drug maker Roche said on Friday that the Food and Drug Administration had approved its drug Avastin as a treatment for ovarian cancer. Roche said regulators had approved Avastin in combination with chemotherapy as a treatment for recurrent cases of cancer that are resistant to platinum-based chemotherapy. Avastin is used to treat different cancer types, including cancers of the colon, lung and kidney. Roche reported $6.25 billion in revenue from the drug in 2013.
