27 September 2025 - An international genomics chief says Australia is slipping behind the rest of the world in genomic medicine as cancer vaccines loom on the horizon.

People with advanced, incurable or rare cancers fear dying before gaining access to targeted treatments as a leading international health chief warns that Australia has fallen behind global best practice in implementing genomics as clinical standard of care.
