‘Enough sickness’ to share GP load among pharmacists, nurses

2 February 2023 - Pharmacy Guild of Australia president Trent Twomey says there is enough “demand and sickness” to allow doctors as well as allied health professionals to prescribe medications, as state and federal governments debate the future of Medicare.

The Productivity Commission released a report on Thursday that found more than three million Australians clogged up emergency rooms when they should have seen a GP instead.
