18 September 2015 - The long-awaited report from the Senate Inquiry into the availability of new, innovative and specialist cancer drugs in Australia comes with a mixed bag of recommendations for Australians who need urgent action.
“It is disappointing that the report’s main recommendation is to call for yet another Government review,” said Leanne Wells, CEO of the Consumers Health Forum of Australia.
“With over 200 submissions received from organisations and everyday Australians who deal with this issue every day, we were expecting a more tangible outcome.”
CHF told the Inquiry in our submission that it should not develop its recommendations in isolation from other Government reviews, the outcomes of which could have serious ramifications on the availability of new and innovative cancer drugs.
