11 April 2022 - A new investigation about the agency’s failures underscores the need for a separate agency to keep our food safe.

In its recent investigative report titled “The FDA’s Food Failure,” POLITICO paints a damning but fair picture of an agency that is failing to deliver timely and effective action on food safety and nutrition problems affecting every American every day. The piece understandably zeros in on the component of the FDA that houses most of its food policymaking responsibility. 

But the problem at the FDA is much larger than how one unit performs.
