Listing breakthrough brings hope for people with spinal condition
1 August 2022 - Adults with debilitating spinal muscular atrophy will for the first time have access to a subsidised treatment that has been available only to children.
From August 1, the gene therapy Spinraza (nusinersen sodium) will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme for adults with spinal muscular atrophy.
