Medicines information factsheet developed for patients and the public

14 June 2016 - A new information factsheet providing information on how health care professionals decide what medicine is right for their patients has been published by Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

The factsheet, Medicines in Scotland: What's the right treatment for you? explains how doctors and other healthcare professionals decide what is the right treatment for a patient, whether they need a medicine and, if so, which medicine to prescribe.

The factsheet was developed by the Area Drug and Therapeutics Collaborative (ADTCC), hosted by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The ADTCC worked with healthcare professionals, public partners, public involvement groups and patient support groups across NHSScotland to develop the factsheet.
