Melbourne to pioneer free treatment to save sickest cancer kids

4 August 2019 - The nation’s youngest cancer patients, who had previously been forced to travel overseas for lifesaving treatment, will receive the revolutionary therapy in Melbourne for the first time for free.

Melbourne will be home to the next frontier in cancer treatment, giving new hope to the nation’s youngest cancer patients.

Many people fighting blood cancer had been forced to travel overseas for lifesaving treatment.

But revolutionary cancer therapy — which supercharges the immune system — will now be available at two Melbourne hospitals.
