Online booking tool could be the key to sweeping public health reforms

5 December 2016 - Patients wanting knee replacements or skin cancers removed could use an online booking tool to pick their preferred doctor and hospital under sweeping reforms recommended by the Productivity Commission.

The Commission’s final report into Human Services identified six areas — out of more than 25 health and human services — that could be improved by boosting competition and choice.

The Commission found that the health sector would see significant improvements if it provided more choice for public hospital and dental patients and those in palliative care.
