Pharma giant wants vaccination reform

9 July 2019 - Pharmaceutical giant GSK is calling for Australia to update its review of subsidised immunisation programs and match rival countries to provide faster access to life-saving vaccines.

GSK said that while Australia’s National Immunisation Program was one of the world’s best, timely access to life-saving vac­cines was under challenge.

It said the system that assessed which vaccines were included on the NIP fell behind other countries on some issues and did not always match with how the community valued prevention.
