18 August 2016 - PHARMAC is asking Tauranga people to help it make some changes to how it should best distribute medicine and medical device funding.
The Government pharmaceutical funding agency gets applications from a wide range of people, for a variety of medicines and soon it expects to be asked about funding particular medical devices.
In its upcoming public meetings and consultation, PHARMAC would also consult on proposed administrative changes to its applications process to meet the Government's obligations under the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
These changes would not change the fundamentals of the PHARMAC model. They comprised setting a timeframe for considering funding applications, and establishing a specific review process for funding applications that PHARMAC has declined.
