Pickering mom fights for life-changing CF medicine to come to Canada
10 December 2019 - Stephanie Stavros feels like she's 'screaming into an abyss' as her life slips away.
Stephanie Stavros has a Christmas wish that’s frustratingly close to within her grasp, yet so far away she could easily die waiting for it to come true.
Being a natural optimist, she dreams nevertheless and it goes exactly like this:
“I’m sitting in my family room, the Christmas decorations are still up and I'm holding two yellow pills in my hand,” Stavros imagines, referring to a new groundbreaking drug, Trikafta, that’s just been introduced with great success to cystic fibrosis patients in the United States.
